Atlanta has been getting its share of rain (and snow and ice) this year. It is a particularily slow time for portraits but that doesn’t mean I want to twittle my thumbs. I give myself projects that help grow my creativity and photography skills when it is slow. This year, I have been photographing fruit indoors at my studio and at my house. The shapes and textures of the fruit are very interesting from a photography standpoint. I have been experimenting with different types of lighting. I finish it off each image in Photoshop, using textures and different backgrounds. Lastly, I give a name to each print. For the pears, I have titled it “A Threesome”. Well, I gotta go now and photograph some red grapefruit.
